About Us

Our Temple

Kol Ami means "voice of my people". That's exactly who we are. A warm and vibrant community of voices raised in prayer and song, learning and celebration, compassion and support.

A respected congregation serving southern York Region and Northern Toronto (including Thornhill, Richmond Hill and Vaughan), Temple Kol Ami is a family-oriented Reform Jewish community that values lifelong learning, spirited and musical prayer, Tikkun Olam (social action), and a meaningful, community-oriented Jewish life cycle.

We value member involvement on all levels and invite you to join us for a wide range of services and programs including:

  • Shabbat services and Torah study
  • High Holy Day and Festival observance
  • Robust Jewish education for all ages
  • Festive social events year-round
  • Community involvement and outreach
Temple Kol Ami's Judaism is dynamic, blending tradition and modernity. Women and men participate equally in services, and we strive for a meaningful balance of Hebrew and English prayer.

Our Community

Temple Kol Ami is small enough for everyone to meet and big enough to offer something for everyone. Main attractions include ...

  • Religious school with hands-on learning for Jewish literacy, identity, culture and values, with a strong Hebrew component
  • Shabbat education programs that run parallel with Torah study and Shabbat services for full family engagement
  • Adult education on Jewish traditions, philosophy, and current events, as well as adult B'nai Mitzvah classes
  • Committment to Jewish peoplehood (K'lal Yisrael) and the state of Israel
  • Social and Festival activites, including Coffee House/talent show, Purim Carnival and Chanukah party, Family and Friends ski trips, theatre outings, game nights and much more
  • Social action programs that inspire members of all ages, to help people in need in our community, including support for food banks, women's and homeless shelters, and more
